Hanson is seeking an experienced Copywriter who will craft engaging copy across a wide variety of projects, including complex digital builds, brand content and messaging, digital campaigns, internal marketing initiatives, and video scripting. We’re seeking candidates who have the ability to write for brands that span a variety of industries, adjusting to their specific tone and voice. You will collaborate as part of a team with members from account, creative and strategy, to achieve the client’s objectives through creative imagery and effective messaging strategies.
Position reports to Managing Director, Creative Services.
Implements a combination of strategic, conceptual and writing skills in order to deliver persuasive stories and compelling copy to our clients and their audience
Partners with creative and strategic leads to craft concepts and execute copy based on established voice and tone for client brands, across various industries
Writes engaging scripts for video, social/digital campaigns, or live experiences
Demonstrates creative thought leadership, keeping on top of trends and providing inspiration and recommendations
Multitasks across simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment, managing and prioritizing timelines and milestones
Leads and/or actively contributes to conceptual brainstorms; challenging teammates to push creative limits
Participates in strategic meetings to deepen understanding of clients’ objectives and ensure creative concepts, tactics, and copy are on brand and strategically sound
Contributes to the new business activities of the agency
Participates in the company’s culture, bringing fresh ideas which enhance the agency brand and marketing efforts
Experience and Qualifications
3-5 years copywriting experience in a creative or agency environment
Portfolio of work demonstrating an expertise in creative writing and experience working on a variety of projects, namely: web, mobile, brand messaging, digital campaigns and video content
Proven ability to create copy for a variety of audiences, brands and industries
Command of grammar, spelling, copy editing and proofing
Experience developing successful concepts working in collaborative multi-disciplinary teams
Strong oral and written communication skills
Comfortable juggling multiple priorities in order to meet deadlines
Ability to iterate quickly and effectively in response to feedback
Strong creative mindset — bring big thinking and fresh ideas to the table
