How Hanson Helped Wix Filters Shift Productivity Into High Gear

Hanson is the interactive agency of record for WIX, a division of Dana Corporation.

WIX Connect is WIX Filters’ extranet, providing information and tools to a variety of user groups.

CHALLENGES:

  • WIX Filters had a great deal of information to share, but to users with a variety of different needs.
  • The site needed to match the strong look and feel of the recently launched consumer site, WIXFilters.com.
  • WIX wanted to collect information about the users of its site, including items downloaded, and information accessed.
  • A lot of time was being spent on filter interchanges. Jobbers were calling the call center with multiple interchange requests, costing WIX both time and money.
  • WIX expressed a desire to cut down on fulfillment costs by decreasing inventory and reducing fax and phone orders of POS, POP and sales collateral.

SOLUTIONS:

  • Hanson created an online filter interchange that allows users to type in multiple filters at once. Additionally, all data is collected and reported back to WIX. If there is no WIX filter match for a competitor filter, the data goes into a special report, and WIX can act accordingly.
  • A resource ordering tool was created that allows users to order and/or download materials including POS, POP and sales collateral. Approvals get routed through to the appropriate manager automatically.
  • A smart user management system allows WIX to track use of the site and deliver appropriate content to the appropriate personnel. District managers, regional managers and jobbers all have different levels of use. There is also a generic use level that provides limited access to anyone visiting the site.

TACTICS & TECHNOLOGY:

Tactic: In addition to personnel interviews and factory tours, the account supervisor for WIX Filters spent a number of days in North Carolina for a filter training course, in order to become fully educated about the product.

RESULTS:

  • Fax and phone orders of POS, POP and sales collateral were reduced by 95%.
  • WIX eliminated 100% of their inventory costs by providing Print-on-Demand of all product and technical bulletins and custom catalogs.
  • WIX collects 100% of all lost sales data during competitor product interchange lookups.
